Sydney is situated on one of the world's most beautiful and famous harbours. Sydney also boasts beautiful beaches, fantastic shops, restaurants, history and culture. Sydney's many highlights include the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Centrepoint Tower, The Rocks, the stunning harbour and the white sands of Bondi, Manly and beyond. Sydney is also home to beautiful National Parks, the Royal Botanic Gardens, many harbour front picnic locations and heritage areas.
Overview
Situated on the magnificent waters of Twofold Bay, Eden is a town marked by its unusual history. Once a major whaling district in New South Wales for most of the 19th century and up until 1930, it is now a winter hotspot for the annual migration of whales between Antarctica and the warmer winter waters to the north. Best time to whale watch (October - November) each year when whales are on their southern migration. Twofold Bay also offers all weather diving and daily fishing trips or simply cruise the Bay, where dolphins, fairy penguins and whales may also be seen. A visit would not be complete without a visit to the Killer Whale Museum, home to an extensive history of the magnificent creature that forms so much of Eden's history.
Overview
Burnie is a large port situated on Emu Bay, with cargo shipping being the main industry. Potatoes were a relatively large industry in Burnie, although tin mining took over, when tin was discovered in Waratah. Silver was also found at Rosebery and Zeehan, and so the Emu Bay Railway became very busy transporting all of these goods to Burnie. Unfortunately the railway is not open to passengers. However, there are plenty of other things to keep you occupied in Burnie. There is spectacular scenery around Burnie with some beautiful waterfalls, including the Guide Falls. For views of the area head to the Fern Glade and Roundhill Lookouts. As well as admiring the views, nature lovers should also visit the Burnie Park and the Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens. Other places of interest include the Burnie Regional Art Gallery, Lactos Cheese Factory and the interesting Pioneer Village Museum. There are several reasonable places to stay in Burnie, and a number of good eating places in the area.
Overview
Melbourne is a city famous for its sense of style. Glamorous events are a trademark of the city, as are its cafes, wineries and shops. Melbourne boasts a lifestyle experience. There are beautiful buildings, fantastic shopping precincts and countless shows, exhibitions and galleries to entertain. It is also very easy to get around with the constant stream of trams. Melbourne is a haven for special events. It is home to the country's richest horse race, the world-famous Tooheys Blue Melbourne Cup, the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Australian Open Tennis Championship, and the birthplace of Australian Rules Football. 2003 sees the Rugby World Cup Tour throughout Australia with games to be held in Melbourne. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is the best in the world. For sport of a different kind, Crown Casino is the biggest and best in Australia. Pubs in and near the city feature live entertainment and a chance to meet the locals. There are plenty of places to hang out late. Sport or entertainment, Melbourne has much more to offer than you will have time to enjoy. The city's multi-cultural mix of people from more than 100 countries has created a myriad of cafes and restaurants. Italian, Greek, Asian, Middle Eastern, African and leading Australian chefs provide taste sensations to please every palate and every pocket. Choose anything from fast food to the finest five-course dinner with a view and silver service. Victoria also produces superb wines and great beers. Just outside the city limits lies a world of natural beauty. The Twelve Apostles are accessible for a day trip although it is recommended you take your time travelling down the Great Ocean Road. Wilson's Promontory, a playground of wild animals, beaches, and forests, is only 3 hours drive away. Just around the corner on Phillip Island is the famous penguin parade. Each night, hundreds of penguins shuffle ashore with plenty of room for spectators to enjoy. Only 50 kilometres or 1 hour drive from Melbourne is the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, a region of hills, forests, and most importantly, wine. There are over 200 vineyards in Victoria with each producing magnificent wines. Further north is the high country where you can ski - and walk, kayak, canoe, abseil, fly and cycle. It is in these hills that Banjo Paterson wrote the poem, The Man from Snowy River.

Visitors feel humbled yet uplifted by the atmosphere of powerful solitude in the presence of superb physical grandeur of Doubtful Sound. Sometimes called “the Sound of Silence” there is a cloistered serenity within Doubtful Sound that contrasts with Milford Sound. The fiord is rich in flora and fauna, New Zealand Fur Seals and Fiordland Crested Penguins can be seen on many of the small islets in the entrance of the fiord. At 421 metres deep Doubtful is the deepest of the fiords and is long and winding with three distinct “arms” and several outstanding waterfalls in the area from Deep Cove to the open ocean, a distance of around 40.4 kilometres. There are many ways to experience Doubtful Sound by kayak or cruise, as a day trip or on an overnight experience.
Overview
Dusky Sound was named by Captain James Cook on his first voyage to New Zealand in 1770. He did not enter the sound because it was getting dark and named it Dusky Bay. The Maori name for the sound is Tamatea after the legendary explorer who travelled the full length of the North and South Islands in his waka/canoe, the Takitimu. On Cook’s second voyage in 1773, when he spent several weeks exploring the fiord, he met several Ma¯ori family groups. They were Nga¯ti Mamoe iwi who lived in Dusky Sound and other remote fiords as fugitives of northern tribal battles and formed the basis for romantic and exaggerated legends of a “lost tribe”.
Overview
Milford Sound is a fiord in the southwest of New Zealand’s South Island. It’s known for towering Mitre Peak, plus rainforests and waterfalls like Stirling and Bowen falls, which plummet down its sheer sides. The fiord is home to fur seal colonies, penguins and dolphins. Milford Discovery Centre and Underwater Observatory offers views of rare black coral and other marine life. Boat tours are a popular way to explore.

Situated on the south eastern coast of New Zealand’s South Island, capital of the Otago Region, a city by the sea, surrounded by beautiful lofty hills, gracious distinguished buildings and white sandy beaches is Dunedin – a city to intrigue and enchant.

Its striking bush covered hills and valleys at the head of a long natural harbour attracted Maori settlers as long as four centuries ago. In 1848 Scottish settlers established a town there, bestowing upon it the ancient name of Edinburgh. Not long after the settlers’ arrival gold was discovered in Otago and the then small town of Dunedin become the commercial capital of New Zealand and the centre for the nations wealth.

Littelton Harbour is a beautiful scenic harbour located very near the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. It has spectacular scenery, a fascinating history and an abundance of recreational opportunities. The harbour itself is made up of lots of interesting and picturesque coves and boat moorings.
Visitors can get to Lyttelton Harbour by driving the short distance through the Lyttelton Road Tunnel or over the Port Hills.
The Harbour area is emerging as a social and recreational centre, with restaurants, cafes, and a wide range of nautical sports - yachting, windsurfing, kayaking, water ski-ing, power boating and sailing. Tourists can partake of hang-gliding and mountain biking, walking, as well as swimming and picnicing. Lyttelton was the port of entry for English Settlers coming to the new settlement of Canterbury and the first of the four ships arrived in 1850. At the turn of the century, Lyttelton was the home base port for Antarctic Expeditions. Relics from these times can be found in the area and many of the historic homes and buildings remain today.
The area offers a unique blend of volcanic landscape, historic towns, enticing beaches, a large island and an international shipping port.

Tauranga is located at the western end of the Bay of Plenty, on the North Island’s central eastern coast. It is built around Tauranga Harbour, a busy port, and the surrounding region is a fertile fruit growing district. It is sheltered to the west by the Kaimai Ranges and to the east by Matakana Island.
Historically, Tauranga was a base for missionaries and for the flax trade. The city is also home to Gate Pa, the site of an historic battle between local Maori and European settlers. Artillery and earthworks can still be seen at the site. Today, Tauranga’s warm climate and coastal location makes the city a popular location to live, and it is the country’s fastest growing centre. Its major attractions are boating, surfing and fishing, and a host of other activities such as water skiing, diving and windsurfing. The city also has some interesting historical buildings and attractions, such as Tauranga Historic Village/Museum.

This represents about one third of the population of the whole country. The city and suburbs cover an area of 60 square kilometres, with many of the suburbs having their own unique character. The city is built on a narrow isthmus between two harbours, the Waitemata to the East and the Manukau to the West. Water sports are a pastime enjoyed by a large number of Aucklanders and the city enjoys the reputation as being known as the 'City of Sails' due the number of yachts which sail in the harbours and the adjoining Hauraki Gulf.
